playing catch up and drinking pom

I've been playing catch-up on updating my 365 blog that you can see here!

Oh how I lust for a Mac Powerbook! And I would never go a day without my computer!

Anyone want to loan me, ohhhh, 3 grand to get one? haha, didn't think so.

I've been meaning to post about this, but it's just slipped my mind! About a month ago, I received a loooovely email from Ryan Wilkins at POM Wonderful in California. He said that he had seen my blog and thought that I would be someone who would LOVE to receive a case of POM Wonderful pomegranate juice. I thought, "Wow, Ryan, you read my mind. I AM someone who would LOVE to receive a case of POM Wonderful pomegranate juice! How ever did you know?!" Okay, I'm kidding, I didn't say that - but you better believe I didn't hesitate to reply to him with my address!

As I said, this has been a few weeks, but I was so excited when I found the above box on my doorstep! So far I have made a POM infused screwdriver...

Annnnnnddddd.... that's all. Ha!

I did add a little to just regular orange juice, and also the faux crystal light "orange sunrise" (it tastes like tang). To me, the POM is kind of strong, maybe a tad bitter at times, so if I were to drink it as is, I would probably put it on ice for a bit to dilute it.

Several years ago, I tasted a pomegranate martini that was delicious - very easy on the taste buds. Are we seeing a trend here with my beverages of choice? lol

In addition to the yummy taste, it has all kinds of great benefits! It's great for cardiovascular health (which is great because heredity is not on my side with heart health), prostate and erectile function (thanks Ryan, but I'm a woman - good to know though) and is more antioxidant rich than red wine! Yes, all this time, I have been drinking red wine because of the ANTIOXIDANTS.

I love the fact that I can get a pomegranate fix without staining my fingers! And having an eye for design, I am totally digging the bottle/packaging. So cute and different. Makes you want to check it out! You can read more about POM Wonderful here. In fact, I'm about to browse the recipes myself. YUM!

snow FO dayssss

Welcome February 2010! Can you believe it's already February?! I think I'm officially old enough now to REALLY realized how fast time flies... and it only gets worse the older we get - EEK!

Well, the snow is still here in NWA... everywhere but the roads, anyway. I've thoroughly enjoyed it... I just think that everything is prettier covered in snow!

I took a bajillion pictures, especially of Dizzy in the snow, so I will share a few!

checking out the scene

me trying to get pics of the snow falling

and Dizzy loving it!

in my photo op hunting i found some bird tracks... so delicate!

the snow falling in the valley against the mountains... just makes you think "ahhhh"

i love this picture... ice, branches, snow...beautiful!

contrast between textures is so neat to me

unedited pic. it was literally blue outside after the sun set.

dizzy after his morning release, literally. that was the least crude way to word it ;)

valley and mountains after the snow fell.

just to let you know how deep it was... this was about 5 or 6 inches!

trying to capture the tiny sun through the clouds

kyle and i drove down a backroad and found this stream

oh no! the silver bullet is buried

random fence shot :D

dizzy and layla on the move. i liked how you could see the snow they were kicking up... and look how deep their paws are.

here we are eating snow...
yum-o snow

icicles as the snow on the roof was melting
i think we could have gotten away with naming him Dumbo :/

strike a pose... you can't tell, but he was in serious trouble in this pic
thanks baby for thawing out my car!
too bad it didn't matter! I still couldn't get out of the driveway this morning for work! there is a slight incline and the Maxima just peeled out. I was sportin' the Z71 to work today. (Kyle's classes and work were cancelled because of le snow) No worries tho, I was a badddd chick in that truck today!

So there is my Snow Day(s) recap. I just love it! I don't want it to melt. And, as I've stated before, I realllllly don't want winter to be over because I don't want to have to retire my boots again for who knows how many months! :( Wow, that makes me sounds like SUCH a girl.

Here's to hoping the groundhog SEES his shadow!

P.S. I just realized this was my 100th post! At about 92, I noticed and swore to myself that I was going to do something special, a giveaway, etc. But, alas, 100 has come and now it will go. I guess I don't have to have a special number to do a giveaway... I'm thinking... details coming soon!

about chick flicks & rom coms

I'm going to consider it just a TAD embarassing how bad I want to see Dear John and Valentine's Day!!!!

So we'll start with
Dear John. Totally a fan of Channing Tatum. Not Channing Tatum the actor, but Channing Tatum the face and body. Just wanted to clear that up.

I am a fan of Amanda Seyfried because of Big Love... I hope this will be a "breakout role" for her, as the critics say.

Oh, and I have to admit that I JUST realized that Dear John is a Nicholas Sparks novel... Um, YEAH, it's going to be good.

Now, let's talk about
Valentine's Day. Could possibly be the MOST EXPENSIVE cast in history?! I think it's awesome there are so many big names in this movie, but my second thought was (first thought being how awesome it was) how in the HECK can whoever is backing this movie AFFORD to PAY that MANY big name actors?!?!?!?!?! Just answer me that.

But just for the record, I heart BRADLEY COOPER, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey (McDreamy AND McSteamy reunited... YES PLEASE!), Ashton, Topher, the Jessicas (Biel more than Alba), Anne Hathaway, and Julia of course!

As for the rest of the cast... not a huge fan of Jennifer Garner, sorry if that comes as a shock. And the rest of the cast is so-so. I'm not expecting Taylor Swift to WOW us at the box office - just sayin'.

SO...

Who, you ask, is going to take me to see these delicious films?

NOT Kyle... that's for sure.

I'm not that girl that subjects my beau to sitting through chick flicks/rom coms just to appease me. Why would I want him to be miserable for an hour and a half just to sit beside me? I'd rather watch by myself and then not have to hide my embarrassing tears, should they happen to well up. And I don't think it's "soooo sweeeet" when a guy actually does say okay to sitting through one - it's nauseating and I bet he has an ulterior motive! Some guys might actually enjoy it - my guy does NOT. And I'm okay with that!

So, back to the question at hand... Who's going to take me?! lol
